Dear Nashville families and friends,
On October 9, the Tennessee Public Charter School Commission voted not to approve our appeal for Nashville School of Excellence. While we are disappointed in the decision, we respect the Commission and the process.
First, thank you. In less than a year, 539 families completed interest forms, 239 people wrote in support of our school, and dozens of community organizations, faith communities, universities, and civic leaders stood with us. Our team attended 25 public events and visited 46 organizations across Nashville. We will not forget the welcome we received.
We are postponing our plans for Nashville, not giving up on them. We will review the Commission’s written feedback carefully and decide on next steps in the coming months.
In the meantime, our focus is on our Memphis students and families. Memphis School of Excellence has served Memphis students since 2010. Our graduation rate has held between 97 and 100 percent for ten years, our Class of 2025 had 100 percent college acceptance, all four of our schools hold the Tennessee STEM School Designation, and our students earn industry certifications in cybersecurity, web design, and coding.
Please note that Nashville School of Excellence is not currently enrolling students, and we are not accepting applications for the coming school year. If you would like updates, please sign up through this form:
With gratitude,
Dr. Samuel Beyhan
