We are honored to recognize Dr. Ismail Fidan, a respected STEM educator, researcher, academic leader, and board member of Nashville School of Excellence, for speaking in support of our proposed school during the MNPS Board meeting.
With more than 25 years of experience in STEM education in Middle Tennessee, Dr. Fidan shared his perspective on the importance of bringing a proven educational model to Nashville students and families. He emphasized that Nashville School of Excellence is not built on promise alone, but on experience, demonstrated results, and a strong foundation for student success.
Dr. Fidan highlighted the history of the network behind Nashville School of Excellence, which opened its first school in Memphis in 2010. Over the past 15 years, the network has grown to serve approximately 2,000 students with more than 260 educators and staff members. He noted that this growth reflects a continued commitment to high academic expectations, exceptional teachers, strong family engagement, and student achievement.
Drawing on his experience as both an educator and a parent, Dr. Fidan expressed his confidence that Nashville School of Excellence can become a valuable educational option for families in Nashville.
We sincerely thank Dr. Fidan for his leadership, service, and continued support of our mission to provide Nashville students with a high-quality, STEM-focused education and prepare them for future success.
